on 18 inches by 24 inches Neenah 80lb paper
Loli is one of three models that I recently did a photo shoot with that will inspire several studies. These studies will help the influence of what direction the large oil paintings will go. With this study I was intrigued with the idea of starting the drawing with charcoal. Charcoal allowed me to focus on just line and value. Then towards the end of the drawing I layered a warm and cool color to create a dynamic scene with in the black and white drawing. Finally with black sumi ink I was able to make the blacks even darker.
